There are a host of dermal fillers currently on the market. Names such as Restylane®, Juvéderm®, Radiesse®, and others are commonly seen in television and print advertisements. These products are different than Botox® Cosmetic in that they are injected in gel form to give more volume to specific areas of the face. Commonly targeted areas are the lines that run between the outer nostrils and the corners of the mouth (nasolabial folds), the lines running vertically below the corners of the mouth (marionette lines), and the lips. The cheek can also be built up in volume using some of these products to create a type of injectable cheek implant. Most of these products vary in their durability, lasting anywhere from four months to over one year.
