Wide awake Lipo-The really Smart Lipo-Vaser

THE SKINNY ON WIDE-AWAKE LIPO I always laughed that while some families have family jewels, my family has “family thighs.” Thin or fat, my mother and I are the lucky recipients of annoying areas of fat located on the inside of our upper thighs. Even when I’m at my skinniest and working out with a personal trainer, my thighs are still out of proportion with the rest of me. It’s especially annoying because I have difficulty finding clothes that fit properly. Clothes either fit my size 6 thighs or my size 4 waist. As the owner of Yolo, I get to try the best new technologies on the market. So, […]

New Study Indicates Massage Eases Chronic Back Pain

Massage therapy helps ease chronic low back pain and improve function, according to a randomized controlled trial that the Annals of Internal Medicine published in its July 5 issue. The first study to compare structural and relaxation (Swedish) massage, the trial found that both types of massage worked well, with few side effects. “We found that massage helps people with back pain to function even after six months,” said trial leader Daniel C. Cherkin, PhD, a senior investigator at Group Health Research Institute. Better function means they are more able to work, take care of themselves and be active. “This is important because chronic back pain is among the most […]

Would you want your dentist performing your tummy tuck? Well, believe it or not, it is perfectly legal, and it happens much more often than you think. Board certification is the culmination of the approval process in which our mentors and peers determine whether a particular physician is suitable to treat patients in a specific field of medicine. However, with all of the confusing claims of board certification that are floating around, how does a patient truly know who is properly qualified for the privilege of offering their services to you? We have unfortunately made it the patient’s responsibility to sift through the misleading information and muddle through the semantics […]

Hair Loss Patients May Soon Seek Refuge in Latisse

This story, about Latisse for hair loss, was recently aired on Good Morning America. In an article, they describe one 27-year old who used Latisse to grow fuller eyebrows before her wedding. Treatment of hair loss is not an FDA-approved use for the drug, but an “off-label” application that some doctors may provide in select cases. Dana Gaiser, a 27-year-old bride-to-be, said thin eyebrows, perhaps caused by too much teenage plucking, have often troubled her. After seeing an ad for Latisse, which grows fuller eyelashes, Dana asked her doctor about her options. While he originally tried to steer her toward more first-step options for hair growth, Dana persisted and her […]
