Vaser Liposuction “The Really Smart Lipo” Part 2

A little over a week has passed since my Vaser Lipo experience and I promised I would “tell all.” So here is is. When the procedure was over I hopped off the table and exclaimed, “That was nothing.” My girlfriend and I even laughed and said, “Wow, I think I could even drive home.” (Insert threatening stare from Dr. Pathy.) I’m sure this exuberance was related to the Valium and all the numbing solution that was still on board. I was driven home and I went off to bed, however I forgot to take my pain pill as instructed. I woke up at about 10:00 writhing and clumsily looked for […]

Project Reunion #3

Project Reunion Entry 3 So Project Reunion is moving right along. I stopped by to visit Nikki at , so that she could take a look at my progress. She was happy with my progress but felt that we could move more aggressively with the melasma since the reunion is fast approaching. She decided that microdermabrasion and glycolic peel treatments would move things along. The treatment was lovely. First of all, I recommend arriving for your treatment early as Yolo’s waiting room is perfectly relaxing. The décor is comfortable and Zen-like. I waited for Nikki and sat in peace and quiet for a few precious minutes. The dermabrasion treatment was […]

Project Reunion Part 2

Project Reunion Entry 2In case you didn’t read my first blog entry, I’ll quickly recap: I’m going to my 24-year high school reunion on August 19 and I’ve started my personal “Project Reunion” to get in shape and look more youthful. My first stop was to see visit Nikki at Yolo. She recommended a laser treatment to get rid of dark spots on my face. The results…fantastic. I’ve no dark spots left on my face, only a few light freckles. Nikki even lightened a scar by my eye that I’ve had since I was seven years old. I must warn all you that there’s downtime for this treatment. I looked […]

Wide awake Lipo-The really Smart Lipo-Vaser

THE SKINNY ON WIDE-AWAKE LIPO I always laughed that while some families have family jewels, my family has “family thighs.” Thin or fat, my mother and I are the lucky recipients of annoying areas of fat located on the inside of our upper thighs. Even when I’m at my skinniest and working out with a personal trainer, my thighs are still out of proportion with the rest of me. It’s especially annoying because I have difficulty finding clothes that fit properly. Clothes either fit my size 6 thighs or my size 4 waist. As the owner of Yolo, I get to try the best new technologies on the market. So, […]

Get Reunion Ready

Project Reunion Entry 1I’ve finally given into the lure of seeing how my classmates from high school turned out. I’ve missed every single reunion since graduating in—dare I admit it—1987. Holy sh#!, that’s 24 years ago! This is mostly because I attended high school at the American School in Paris. So, most of my classmates are scattered around the world. But, thanks to Facebook, we all recently reconnected. One former classmate has been brave enough to plan a reunion in NYC. So, on August 19, I’ll be meeting my old high school friends for drinks. Now, I’m not sure how all of your former female classmates look on Facebook, but […]

I Feel Bad About My Neck

Have you uttered those words? As Nora Ephron has written, many people of a certain age begin to have a love/hate relationship with certain body parts. If you haven’t read Nora Ephron’s book, “I Feel Bad About My Neck” I suggest you do. Feel bad no more, there are plenty of options available for those who dislike having their body parts head South. A recent article posted on the Beauty Snob explains the process of SkinTyte, which is a non invasive way to tighten skin using the Sciton’s Skin Tyte Infrared technology. One thing the article did not explain is that Skin Tyte can be used to correct sagging and lax […]

When Hot Is Too Hot?

Sweat no more The Best Way To Stop Excessive Sweating – Botox Hyperhidrosis Treatment, , . Remember the catch phrase “Never let them see you sweat?” In 1984, the Gillette Company launched a new series of TV commercials for its Dry Idea antiperspirants that introduced what quickly became a famous ad slogan. For some sweating is an occasional nuisance, for others it is an embarrassing ongoing issue. With summer quickly approaching many are concerned about ruined clothing and the embarrassment of trying to mask unwanted sweat stains. The technical term for excessive sweating is “hyperhidrosis.” Sufferers should first visit their Physician, as some absorbent powders and lotions can be prescribed […]

Is your Surgeon a Surgeon?

Would you want your dentist performing your tummy tuck? Well, believe it or not, it is perfectly legal, and it happens much more often than you think. Board certification is the culmination of the approval process in which our mentors and peers determine whether a particular physician is suitable to treat patients in a specific field of medicine. However, with all of the confusing claims of board certification that are floating around, how does a patient truly know who is properly qualified for the privilege of offering their services to you? We have unfortunately made it the patient’s responsibility to sift through the misleading information and muddle through the semantics […]
